Finalists for the 15th annual hennemusic Rock News Awards are chosen by readers: the Rock News Story Of The Year is determined by page views, while the Rock News Artist Of The Year is based on the combined total page views of the top 50 hennemusic rock news stories of the past twelve months.
The 2024 hennemusic Rock News Awards winners will be announced on Wednesday, December 18.

Rock News Artist of The Year No. 2 – METALLICA
Metallica wrapped up 2023 with a series of North American dates on the M72 World Tour in support of its latest album, “72 Seasons.”
In February, the project’s title track won the band a Grammy Award in the Best Metal Performance category, while the group crushed a performance of “Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding” from a Gershwin Prize for Popular Song event in Washington, DC honoring the songwriting team of Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
Metallica resumed its ongoing world tour with two shows in Munich, Germany in late May as part of a 3-month series of concerts across Europe, and continued the run with North American events into the fall before playing four nights in Mexico City in late September.
Before the end of the year, the Los Angeles group announced new 2025 concert dates in North America and Australia and New Zealand.
