Metallica nominated for Best Metal Performance Grammy Award

Metallica is among the nominees in the Best Metal Performance category for the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The song “Screaming Suicide” from the band’s “72 Seasons” album will compete for music industry votes for the honor alongside tracks by Gojira, Marina Viotta & Victor Le Masne; Judas Priest; Knocked Loose featuring Poppy; and, Spiritbox.

Produced by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Greg Fidelman, Metallica recorded “72 Seasons” at its HQ in San Rafael, CA in 2021 and 2022 ahead of its release in 2023.

The group’s eleventh studio record debuted at No. 1 on the US Album Sales chart and at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

The 2025 Grammy Awards, officially known as the 67th Grammy Awards, will take place live at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 2, broadcasting live on the CBS Television Network and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
