Iron Maiden announce 50th anniversary world tour

Iron Maiden has announced European dates for its 50th anniversary world tour.

The 2025 Run For Your Lives series will mark 50 years since bassist Steve Harris formed the band in East London on Christmas Day in 1975 after leaving his former outfit, Smiler; the new group rehearsed for months before making its official live debut in May of 1976.

Iron Maiden released its debut EP, “The Soundhouse Tapes”, in 1979 before issuing a self-titled album the following year; the group has delivered 17 studio albums to date up to and including 2021’s “Senjutsu.”

The world tour will celebrate the anniversary with a very special set list, spanning the nine studio albums from 1980’s “Iron Maiden” to 1992’s “Fear Of The Dark”, as well as featuring the band’s most spectacular and elaborate show ever.

“Next year is a very special one for Iron Maiden and we’re going to be giving our fans a once-in-a-lifetime live experience," says frontman Bruce Dickinson. "This is a tour that’s gonna put a smile on your face and a cheer in your throat. If you’ve seen us before, then get ready to take that experience to a whole new level. If you’ve never seen us before, then what the hell have you been waiting for? Now’s your chance to find out what you’ve been missing! Iron Maiden’s definitely gonna get ya!”

The 2025 series will open in Budapest, Hungary on May 27; special guests for the first half of the tour, including the London & Dublin outdoor shows but not the UK arenas, will be American rockers Halestorm; the second half of the tour sees Sweden’s Avatar as guests; and, finally, British metal band, The Raven Age, will open all UK & Ireland shows. The festivals will of course be festival billing.

Fan Club Presales begin Monday, September 23, with tickets going on general sale next week – get details at ironmaiden.com.
