The lead single from the band’s second album, “Ride The Lightning”, was featured during a headline set on the third day of the four-day event; Metallica topped a bill that included Mass Hysteria, Extreme, Mammoth WVH, and Saxon, among others.
The festival at Clisson’s Val de Moine also saw headline appearances on other nights by Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head and Foo Fighters.
Metallica is also sharing video of a performance of the “Ride The Lightning” track, “For Whom The Bell Tolls”, from the 2024 edition of Hellfest.
The band will open a series of North American shows starting at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on August 2.
