The original was a US Top 5 hit for the California band and featured on its second studio album, “Tommy Tutone 2.”
Roth has yet to share any details about the origins and team behind the cover version, which he titled “Jenny Jenny (That telephone song)..” alongside the song's posting online.
The rocker has shared a number of recordings in recent months, including a new "studio live" version of the 1984 Van Halen classic, “Jump”, and unreleased songs “Wash And Fold”, among others.
With more than 80 million albums sold worldwide, Van Halen were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2007; five years after the band performed their final concert at the Hollywood Bowl in October of 2015, guitarist Eddie Van Halen passed away in 2020 at the age of 65 from a stroke and other issues following a lengthy battle with cancer.
