Van Halen announce For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Expanded Edition

Van Halen will release an Expanded Edition of its 1991 album, “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge”, on July 12.

Originally launched with the lead single, “Poundcake”, the band’s ninth studio set included instant classics like “Right Now”, “Runaround” and “Top Of The World” on its way to delivering Van Halen its third consecutive US No. 1 record on its way to reaching triple platinum certification in the region for sales of more than three million copies.

The project earned Van Halen its first Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance, and an American Music Award for Favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Album.

The 2LP/2CD/Blu-ray Expanded Edition of “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” will include a newly-remastered version of the original album, along with previously-unreleased audio and video footage from Van Halen’s December 4, 1991 concert in Dallas, Texas.

The show’s setlist mixes new songs (“Judgement Day” and “Poundcake”) with tracks from “5150” and “OU812” (“Best Of Both Worlds” and “Finish What Ya Started”), as well as the “1984” smash “Panama,” and a pair of Sammy Hagar hits: “I Can’t Drive 55” and “There’s Only One Way To Rock.”

The package will also include previously-unreleased alternate versions of “Right Now” and “The Dream Is Over.”

In addition, the Blu-ray includes the official music videos for “Poundcake,” “Runaround,” “Top Of The World,” and the 1992 MTV VMA Video Of The Year winner, “Right Now.”

Van Halen is streaming live video of “Poundcake” from the Dallas, TX concert as the first preview to the 2024 release.
