The lead single from “Pyromania” was featured as the finale of the band’s rare club performance at the iconic Sunset Strip venue as part of the launch of the its twelfth studio album, “Diamond Star Halos.”
On April 26, Def Leppard will celebrate “Pyromania” with a new expanded 40th anniversary box set edition; produced by Joe Elliott and Ronan McHugh, the package features a remastered version of the album; a disc of unheard demos recently re-discovered by the singer while combing through the vaults; an unreleased demo "No You Can't Do That"; and, two defining live shows from the era including the LA Forum and Westfalen Halle in Dortmund, Germany.
The group recently streamed a rough mix of “Photograph” as the first preview to the 2024 release, giving fans some insight into the recording and evolution of the project’s lead single.
“Right from the very early days we had a specific idea of how we wanted to sound,” says bassist Rick Savage. “A massive wall of guitars and drums supporting huge vocals and melodies. That vision came to fruition with the making of ‘Pyromania’. Even now it still has that special quality that made it such a ground-breaking record. It’s a testament to the songs that they remain the fans’ favourites and true cornerstones of any Leppard show. 40 years?? It doesn’t even seem like 40 days.”
Def Leppard will launch a co-headlining North American tour with Journey in St. Louis, MO in July.
