Rock News Artist of The Year No. 1 – MOTLEY CRUE

Motley Crue ended 2022 with news that guitarist Mick Mars had retired from the road and that the band brought in former Rob Zombie rocker John 5 to fill out the live lineup as they would tour this year with Def Leppard.

Following their first rehearsal with John 5, the group shared their first publicity photo with their new touring member, who would make his debut with the band in Atlantic City, NJ on February 10.

A series of South American dates wrapped up the first leg before Motley Crue made headlines when Mars sued his bandmates over claims that they kicked him out of the group and ripped him off, financially, by allegedly cutting his percentage of profits and removing him from the band’s corporations, among other things; the band issued their own response to the situation.

Meanwhile, Motley Cue shared an update on new music ahead of resuming the Def Leppard series across the UK and Europe before wrapping up the summer with a short run of shows across the US.

The California band issued a 40th anniversary limited edition box set of their 1983 classic, “Shout At The Devil”, in late October, while Mars released “Loyal To The Lie” as the debut single from his forthcoming debut album, “The Other Side Of Mars”, on Halloween – just days before the Crue-Def Leppard trek would play a handful of shows in Japan and Australia before year’s end.
