The band picked up nominations in three categories, including Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for “Rescued”, and Best Rock Album for “But Here We Are.”
Best Rock Song – a songwriters award – sees band members Dave Grohl, Rami Jaffee, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear recognized for the album’s lead single, “Rescued”, which will compete against songs recorded by The Rolling Stones, Olivia Rodrigo, Queens Of The Stone Age, and boygenius.
“Rescued” also scored a nod in the Best Rock Performance category alongside tracks by Arctic Monkeys (“Sculptures Of Anything Goes”), Black Pumas (“More Than A Love Song”), boygenius (“Not Strong Enough”), and Metallica (“Lux Æterna”).
Foo Fighters are also among the nominees for Best Rock Album with “But Here We Are”, which has been highlighted alongside Greta Van Fleet’s “Starcatcher”, Metallica’s “72 Seasons”, Paramore’s “This Is Why”, and “In Times New Roman...” by Queens Of The Stone Age.
Foo Fighters topped multiple US charts when “But Here We Are” was released in June, including the Vinyl Album chart, Alternative Album and the Hard Rock Album sales charts, while debuting at No. 8 on the Billboard 200.
The 2024 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 4 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles; it will air live at 8:00 PM ET on the CBS Television Network and will stream on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs).
