Originally recorded exclusively for a 1998 ECW Wrestling compilation and nominated for a 2000 Grammy Award in the Best Metal Performance category, Motorhead’s version has just been released after being unavailable outside of the ECW collection.
Produced by Mulberry Creative, the video follows a nocturnal journey through the nightmares of a child who is haunted by the evil sandman in his dreams, and is ultimately saved by the powers of the inimitable Motorhead ‘Warpig’.
The lead single from Metallica’s self-titled album delivered the band’s commercial breakthrough as their first studio record to top the US charts; the project remains the top-selling album in the US since MRC Data began electronically tracking music sales in 1991, with 17.3 million copies sold.
The Motorhead-Metallica bond is strong, with the California band playing Lemmy’s 50th birthday in 1995 all dressed up as the legend himself under the moniker of The Lemmy’s.
In turn, Motorhead have paid homage to Metallica, even winning a Grammy for their cover of "Whiplash" in 2004.
Motorhead's "Enter Sandman" is now available on all streaming platforms now, including Dolby Atmos on Apple Music and 360 Spatial Audio on Amazon.
There’s also an exclusive, limited edition 7” single with etched Warpig B-side with exclusive merch and bundles, available in the official Motorhead store while stock lasts.
Motorhead will release “Live At Montreux Jazz Festival '07” on June 16.
