Motley Crue has revealed the first official photo of their new 2023 world tour live lineup.
Shot by legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin, the black and white pic features the group’s new touring guitarist, John 5, and is captioned: “Ready to hit the road...🔥🔥🔥 #TheWorldTour 2023.”
John 5 – whose career includes extended stints with Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, among others – is joining the Crue’s lineup following the recent retirement of Mick Mars as he continues to deal with his long struggle with Ankylosing spondylitis, a type of arthritis that affects the spine and worsens over time.
Last week, Nikki Sixx raved about the band’s first full rehearsal with their new addition, writing: “Well that was epic. @john5guitarist walks into rehearsal and we just rip the set from top to bottom seamlessly. That took 90 minutes and then the next few hours we just laughed and told dumb rockstar war stories. @MotleyCrue DAY 1.”
John 5 will make his Motley Crue live debut during the band’s February 10 and 11 dates at the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, NJ, a week before the classic rock acts launch the 2023 world stadium tour in Mexico City on February 18.
Motley Crue recently delivered the No. 5 Rock News Story Of The Year and were named the No. 8 Rock News Artist Of The Year as part of the 2022 hennemusic Rock News Awards.
