“Well that was epic,” posted Sixx on Twitter Monday evening. “@john5guitarist walks into rehearsal and we just rip the set from top to bottom seamlessly. That took 90 minutes and then the next few hours we just laughed and told dumb rockstar war stories. @MotleyCrue DAY 1.”
The bassist also gave a shout out via Instagram to the group’s support team, writing: “Special thanks to our amazing crew for always going that extra mile for us. Today sounded insane.”
Stepping in to the lineup in place of Mick Mars, John 5 will make his Motley Crue live debut in Atlantic City, NJ in a couple of weeks when the band returns to the road for shows with Def Leppard as they begin their 2023 world tour.
In sync with Mars’ announcement in October that he was retiring from the road, John 5 said: “I’m honored to carry on Mick’s legacy, and am looking forward to playing these songs.”
