According to Billboard, the manager has confirmed that he was “just hired”, as he takes over from player-managers Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain after a roller-coaster year.
Journey – who grossed $39.9 million on its 2022 North American arena tour – have been making headlines lately for their internal issues, including a trademark dispute with former singer Steve Perry and a legal battle between Schon and Cain over financial issues.
The group issued their latest album, “Freedom”, in July, and have just released “Live In Concert At Lollapalooza”, which features the band’s headlining set at Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL in July of 2021.
Journey recently announced dates for the 2023 Freedom tour of North America, which also celebrates the group’s 50th anniversary since their formation in San Francisco, CA in 1973; the series – with special guests Toto – will begin in late January.
