The 14-city series – which opens in New York on November 2 and wraps up in Madrid, Spain on November 28 – is billed as “an evening of words, music and some mischief.”
"I miss being on stage and the closeness of U2's audience," says Bono. "In these shows I've got some stories to sing, and some songs to tell… Plus I want to have some fun presenting my ME-moir, Surrender, which is really more of a WE-moir if I think of all the people who helped me get from there to here."

“Surrender” sees the Irish rocker writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with. In his unique voice, Bono takes us from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism dedicated to the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty.
Surrender’s subtitle, “40 Songs, One Story”, is a nod to the book’s forty chapters, which are each named after a U2 song and accompanied by forty original drawings by the singer, which will appear throughout the book.
U2’s most recent studio album is 2017’s “Songs Of Experience”; it was a companion project to 2014’s “Songs Of Innocence.”
