The clip for the tune – which serves as a tribute to the legendary band’s original era – features a variety of still images and video snippets from throughout their career, including rarely-seen photos from the group’s days playing the Southern California club circuit.
Occasional Roth writing and recording partner (and Rob Zombie member) John 5 plays guitar on the song and helped put the video together.
“Honored to be a part of this amazing piece of history,” shares John 5. “When I wrote the song with Dave, I knew it was something very special. I created this video on the tour bus as a tribute with Mike Savage. Very proud to share it with everyone.”
Roth and the guitarist recorded “Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Anyway” during a series of sessions in 2007 for an album project that has yet to be fully released.
With more than 80 million albums sold worldwide, Van Halen were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2007; five years after the band performed their final concert at the Hollywood Bowl in October of 2015, guitarist Eddie Van Halen passed away in 2020 at the age of 65 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
