Ozzy Osbourne is sharing an update on the progress of the follow-up to 2020’s “Ordinary Man.”
“I’m so happy to let everyone know that I finished my new album this week and delivered it to my label Epic Records,” Osbourne says. “I’ll be sharing all the information about the album and its’ upcoming release with you in the next several weeks.”
As with his last album, Ozzy has been working on new material with the core “Ordinary Man” lineup of producer/guitarist Andrew Watt, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, with some sessions including Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who recently passed away while on tour in South America.
Smith recently revealed a few others have been involved, including Metallica (and former Ozzy) bassist Robert Trujillo, and guitarists Zakk Wylde, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and the singer’s Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi.
“Ordinary Man” delivered Ozzy a No. 3 debut on the US Billboard 200 tying his highest solo chart placement with 2007’s “Black Rain.”
