The legendary rocker, who has made several appearances at WWE events through the years, prerecorded a message for the event, which itself was taped recently in Florida.
"Thank you so much WWE Universe for this award,” says Oxzzy. “I don't deserve it, but thank you anyway. It's all about the fans, really. Our fans are what keep us alive really. It's all about them.
"I wanna thank Vince McMahon and Triple H. Thank you very much, God bless you."
Ozzy’s latest album, “Ordinary Man”, debuted at No. 3 on both the US Billboard 200 and in the UK, where the singer scored the highest-charting album of his solo career.
Ozzy has been working on a new record with producer Andrew Watt following last year’s set; while “Ordinary Man” featured a core lineup of Watt, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, the producer has already confirmed that Smith, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters and Metallica’s Robert Trujillo are on board for the album.
