The band has come together to share their personal collections of artifacts including personal memorabilia, gear, letters, clothes, art, and more. The project will serve as a constantly curated museum including special installations, where fans can gather to see the band’s history from 1977 to now, with plans for each member to record stories and memories to share in tandem with the initiative.
Def Leppard has uploaded this innovative living and breathing digital museum with a treasure trove of history, including exclusive never-before-seen photos, products, video, audio commentary, interviews, and more. They will continue to personally curate and regularly update this online destination as a hub for their past, present, and future.
Spending time at home during the pandemic, the band members had a chance to dig through their personal archives to uncover countless artifacts collected over the course of 44 years since their 1977 formation. As these items tell the story of the group from their perspective, they decided to put them on display in a new online portal.
"After months of digging through our personal rock and roll closets (and warehouses, no less!), we present you our history!,” says singer Joe Elliott. “Our historic vault will continually be updated with installments you may have seen with some gems I promise you've never heard or seen! It's a true backstage pass for any Def Leppard or rock and roll fan! Please…step inside and walk this way!"
Among its initial collections, "On The Road" spotlights photos, historical instruments, backstage passes, and tour itineraries, while "Jacket Required" presents jackets and stage attire from the band's personal collection and "All I've Got Is A Photograph" offers images collected through the years. In addition, the newly-launched site includes a retrospective track-by-track in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their first greatest-hits album "Vault" that boasts audio and video commentary from all five members.

Formed in Sheffield, UK in 1977, Def Leppard have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
As the live music industry shut down during the pandemic last year, Def Leppard were forced to reschedule their US stadium tour with Motley Crue to this summer, while a planned 2020 fall series with ZZ Top was canceled.
