While the band have shared only a brief snippet of the tune, the :60 ad features additional audio ahead of its impending official release as the lead track from the group’s forthcoming album.
Inspired by the 2006 film “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby”, the commercial sees actor Gary Cole reprise his role as Reese Bobby while recreating a scene from the movie and delivering the classic line: “if you ain’t first, you’re last.”
“Shot In The Dark” marks the first new music from AC/DC since 2014’s “Rock Or Bust.”
The group recorded the forthcoming project in Vancouver in 2018 with a reunited lineup that sees co-founder Angus Young joined by singer Brian Johnson, bassist Cliff Williams, drummer Phil Rudd and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young.
