Shot, edited and directed by the band, the tune celebrates and reflects the band’s personal transformation over the past three years as they’ve toured the world.
"This song was inspired by what three years of touring did by opening so many doorways,” says singer Josh Kiszka. “This is my truth, how I feel about all of our travels, but I know it echoes the experiences and changes of perspectives for Jake, Sam and Danny as well."
“We’ve seen how people live in different parts of the world,” adds bassist Sam Kiszka, “and we’ve developed intrinsic respect for different cultures and people. We’ve gone from driving down a highway to a show and seeing endless miles of shantytowns in Sao Paulo, to playing some of the richest places on earth.”
The song is expected to appear on the follow-up to their 2018 debut, “Anthem Of The Peaceful Army.”
Greta Van Fleet launched their recording career in 2017 with a pair of EP’s – “Black Smoke Rising” and “From The Fires”, the latter of which earned the band a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album at the 2019 ceremony.
Following the buzz created by the EPs, “Anthem…” went on to debut at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200.
