Metallica are sharing video of a 2017 performance in Mexico City as the final episode of their weekly streaming concert series.
“Metallica Mondays reaches the end of the line,” says the band. “Tune in for the 23rd & final installment of the series, shot in front of a fired-up crowd at Foro Sol on March 3, 2017.”
Metallica launched the series in March as the global pandemic continued to spread and, like most industries, the live music business was shut down.
“While we’re all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music, so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance?”, said Metallica at the time. “Not to sound too cheesy, but now more than ever, we’re in this together, and staying connected is how we’ll get through it. With that in mind, we’re bringing a series of Live Metallica shows right to your couch!”
Following a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Metallica are gearing up for the August 28 release of a new package, “S&M2”, and a pre-recorded live performance as the first rock band to be featured in the Encore Drive-In Nights series on August 29, which will be streamed at hundreds of drive-in and outdoor theaters across North America.
