ESPN will host the broadcast premiere of the forthcoming concert film by The Eagles, “Live From The Forum MMXVIII”, on Sunday, July 5 at 8 PM EDT / 5 PM PDT.
The project captures The Eagles in concert over three sold-out shows last September and presents the first band recordings with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, who joined the touring lineup in 2017 following the 2016 passing of co-founder Glenn Frey.
Directed by Nick Wickham, “Live From The Forum MMXVIII” was filmed on 14 4K cameras and delivers many of the band’s most iconic tracks, solo hits and fan favorites.
The broadcast premiere will be introduced by longtime Eagles fan, ESPN’s Chris Berman.
“Sports and music have long been at the top of the list for being able to bring people of all types together. The Eagles have been doing just that for almost half a century,” says Berman. “We at ESPN are thrilled beyond belief to share this premiere with everyone! What a wonderful way to cap off the holiday weekend!”
“Music and sports fans have been shut out from live events for more than three months,” adds Eagles’ manager Irving Azoff. “The premiere of Live From The Forum MMXVIII this July 4th weekend on ESPN is The Eagles’ gift to their fans.”
The Eagles will release “Live From The Forum MMXVIII” on October 16; the set will be available in a variety of audio and video formats, including Blu-ray, CD, vinyl and streaming.
UPDATE (JULY 8): ESPN will host an encore broadcast of the concert film; get details here.
