Metallica are sharing video of a 1999 concert in Bogota, Colombia in the latest installment of their weekly streaming series.
“Metallica Mondays takes a trip back to 1999!,” says the band. “We dug through the dusty, old VHS tapes in Lars’ vault to uncover Live in Bogotá - May 2, 1999, which happens to be the first gig we ever played in Colombia.”
Metallica were filmed during the Garage Remains The Same Tour in support of their 1998 covers record, “Garage Inc.”
The project saw the band deliver their versions of classic tracks by artist that influenced them, including Black Sabbath, Diamond Head, Queen, Motorhead and Budgie, among others.
The year-long trek opened in Toronto in November 1998 and saw Metallica play 58 shows – including the 25th anniversary edition of Woodstock – before it wrapped up at New York’s Madison Square Garden in November of 1999.
