Sammy Hagar is streaming an acoustic performance of the 1986 Van Halen classic, “Dreams”, from his 2015 live project, “At Your Service.”
The rocker is marking this week’s fifth anniversary of his debut record with The Circle, which was later issued on video.
“We know it’s not the same as being there with you live,” says Hagar, “but since we had to cancel our upcoming summer tour, we wanted to drop this live performance of ‘Dreams’ for you to enjoy.
“This band started as a live band and will always be a live band. We can’t wait to get back out and rock with you when it is safe to do so!”
Recorded on the band’s 2014 tour, “At Your Service” sees the group performing hits from Sammy's “4 Decades Of Rock” tour (Montrose, Solo, Van Hagar, Wabos), which also included some classic tracks from the Led Zeppelin catalog.
Directed by Pat Gillies, Hagar says “this version of the video is a slightly different edit from what was released on the DVD; it includes more live performance and crowd.”
“Dreams” was the second single from “5150”, Hagar’s debut release with Van Halen.
This week, the singer predicted a comeback by Van Halen in a new interview with Rolling Stone; the band have been inactive since the completion of a 2015 tour.
