Alice Cooper is debuting a video for a newly-released pandemic-inspired single, “Don’t Give Up.”
“Our enemy is a cold, indiscriminate monster,” sings the rocker. “It doesn’t care if you’re old or newborn. It exists to kill. You and I are nothing to it. It has no heart, or soul, or conscience. Do we fear it? Yeah. Do we cower before it? Hell no. We’re the blood-and-guts human race, and we win.”
Cooper recently invited fan submissions for the clip, asking them to “share a photo or video of you holding a sign featuring A WORD FROM THE LYRICS to the song and you could be in the final video.”
“'Don’t Give Up' is a song about what we’ve all been going through right now and about keeping our heads up and fighting back together,” says the music icon. “This video wouldn’t have been possible without you - and who knows, you might be in it!
“And whatever you do - Don’t Give Up!”
Available now in digital format and on streaming services, a “strictly-limited” 7” vinyl picture disc of the tune will be released on August 14.
Cooper recently postponed a spring series of North American dates during the global health crisis.
