Former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum can be seen performing the band’s 1988 classic, “Patience”, in a newly-released home video during the global pandemic.
"Here I am again with my guitar,” says Sorum in the Instagram clip. “I'm out in the backyard here in the desert. You see my palm trees. It's getting a little chilly, so I put on this wooly hat in tribute to Izzy Stradlin, one of the writers of this next song.
"I was very fortunate to play with my old bandmates on this song. Obviously, I was on the drums. I'm gonna play it for you tonight on the guitar and sing it. I hope you enjoy my version. This one's called 'Patience'."
The ballad – which first appeared on the band’s second album, “G N' R Lies” – was a Top 10 hit in several countries, including a No. 4 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Sorum joined Guns N’ Roses in 1990 following the firing of Steven Adler; he was on hand for the 1991 “Use Your Illusion” albums and 1993’s “The Spaghetti Incident?” before exiting the lineup in 1997.
Sorum was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of Guns N’ Roses in 2012.
