Sammy Hagar And The Circle have cancelled their upcoming tour of South America “due to the escalation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).”
The week-long series was scheduled to begin March 14 in Santiago, Chile, and featured four stops in Brazil, including appearances in Ribeirao Preto, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo.
“The decision has been made along with the local promoters in order to reduce potential health risks in response to the current global health crisis,” says Hagar in a statement. “If you have any questions regarding refunds, contact the local promoter or any of their authorized point of sales where you purchased your ticket(s).”
In a companion video, the Red Rocker promises fans that the band will appear in the region “as soon as it gets better and and as soon as we can, we will be down in South America.”
Hagar and The Circle are planning to continue to tour in support of 2019’s “Space Between” album: they are scheduled to team up with Whitesnake for a summer US tour that is set to open in West Palm Beach, FL on July 9.
Hagar was named the No. 4 Rock News Artist Of The Year as part of the 2019 hennemusic Rock News Awards.
