hennemusic celebrates 10th anniversary




Daily rock news site hennemusic.com is celebrating its 10th anniversary on February 1.

Launched in 2010 by veteran award-winning Canadian broadcaster Bruce Henne, the daily news service is dedicated to providing music fans with an accurate, timely and reliable source for rock news.

hennemusic reports are regularly featured by global rock artists, trusted media brands and dedicated artist fan sites, and are shared by music fans around the world.

The hennemusic Hot 10 delivers a countdown of the biggest stories of each week and influences the annual hennemusic Rock Music News AwardsThe Rolling Stones recently swept the 2019 edition when readers named them Rock News Artist and Rock News Story Of The Year.

The media outlet recently reached a new milestone when the daily rock news site passed 15 million views since its debut, with a growing content library for fans to access that now features more than 16,000 stories on the ongoing history of rock as it unfolds in real time.

“I would like to extend a huge thanks to hennemusic readers for all their support in our first decade,” says Publisher Bruce Henne, “as well as the artists, record labels and media sites who help share our work so that fans can stay current on the daily rock news.”

A music media veteran, Henne graduated from the Radio Broadcasting program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, ON in 1984 before becoming Station Manager at the school’s campus radio outlet, where he was honored with an Alumni Award for his work while also writing music news for multiple media brands in the area.

Henne jumped to network radio in 1989 as a member of Westwood One Canada before joining the country’s largest rock station, Q107-FM Toronto, to help launch the Rock Radio Network (RRN) in 1991; he helped create, market and build major music brands – including The Legends Of Classic Rock, The Ongoing History Of New Music, Corus Entertainment’s Deep Sky, and ExploreMusic – over the next two decades as the RRN was twice named Network Of The Year by the Canadian music industry.

Henne has worked with virtually every major rock act in the business while producing Rockline, Little Steven's Underground Garage, and other U.S.-based shows for Canadians, creating radio series like All Access and One On One, and producing more than 400 music specials, world album premieres and live broadcast events.

As a music journalist, Henne has written for iconic music brands like Team Rock, Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Prog, Blues and RockAAA, among others.
