Aerosmith performed a pair of classic hits during an appearance at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on January 26.
The Boston rockers opened their two-song medley with 1993’s “Livin’ On The Edge”, before seguing into their 1975 smash, “Walk This Way”, with guests Run-DMC.
The second single from the band’s third album, “Toys In The Attic”, reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and earned a second life when Run–DMC were joined by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry for the hip hop group’s 1986 cover, which hit No. 4 on the same US chart.
Hosted by Alicia Keys, the Grammy Awards took place at the Staples Center and saw live music from Billie Eilish, Lizzo and Gary Clark, Jr., among others.
Aerosmith’s Grammy performance came two days after the group were honored with the MusiCares Person Of The Year award at a benefit show in Los Angeles on January 24.
Drummer Joey Kramer did not participate in either performance, which was handled by his drum tech John Douglas after Kramer filed – and lost – a lawsuit against his bandmates when they denied him from playing after a six-month absence from the live lineup due to an injury and insufficient rehearsal time.
Aerosmith will resume their ongoing Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas residency at the Park Theater at Park MGM on January 29.
