Megadeth are streaming video of rehearsals ahead of the start of their European tour with Five Finger Death Punch in Helsinki, Finland on January 20.
The series will mark the band’s first shows since frontman Dave Mustaine received treatment for throat cancer, with which he was diagnosed last spring; the rocker announced his return via social media with a new photo and the caption: “I’m back.”
The guitarist’s return is welcomed by tour mate and FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory, who shared his thoughts on the trek when it was first announced.
"The line-up is massive,” says Bathory. “Bad Wolves were THE break out band of recent years and are certainly bringing the heat. Megadeth needs no introduction; they are absolute legends. Dave Mustaine's contribution to this genre is simply immeasurable. I consider him one of the founding fathers of not just thrash but heavy metal in general, because his riffs and guitar playing have influenced everyone that was in Megadeth's blast radius… and that's a big radius."
The five-week tour will wrap up in Sofia, Bulgaria on February 22.
