Four classic tracks from AC/DC’s 1980 album, “Back In Black”, have received new platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The set’s lead single, “You Shook Me All Night Long”, and its title track have reached 3x platinum for sales of 3 million copies each, while “Hells Bells” and “Shoot To Thrill” have each hit the platinum mark for sales of 1 million each.
News of the songs reaching new sales milestones comes on the heels of the album being certified by the RIAA for US sales of shipments of 25 million copies, placing it fourth on the all-time list behind The Eagles’ “Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)” at 38 million and followed by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” (33 million) and The Eagles’ “Hotel California” (26 million).
“Back In Black” will mark its 40th anniversary in 2020.
