Foo Fighters share new album plans

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins is sharing the band’s plans for the follow-up to 2017’s “Concrete And Gold.”

"Well, from what I've heard from our fearless leader, Dave Grohl, he has a lot of demos that he's worked on,” Hawkins tells Rock Sound backstage during a recent show in Glasgow, Scotland. “And I think we'll start, once this [European] tour is over... I think not too soon after that, we'll start the process of putting the songs together as a band.

"It's a long process – we do a lot of demoing and stuff – but I think that we'll have, I'm hoping, I think we'll have a new record by next year. We should."

Launched with the lead single, “Run”, “Concrete And Gold” debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 to deliver the band their second US chart-topper, following 2011’s “Wasting Light.”

The Foos will wrap up their European run this weekend with appearances at the UK’s Leeds and Reading Festivals, following which they’ll play a pair of US dates before headlining a series of South American shows.
