Queen and Adam Lambert are streaming a video announcing their appearance at the 2019 Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park this fall.
"We’re partnering with Global Citizen to end extreme poverty by 2030 and are heading over to New York City on 9/28," says the band. "Stand up and take action with us + Global Citizen #PowerTheMovement”
Since the first Global Citizen Festival in New York in 2012, Global Citizen has grown into one of the largest, most visible platforms for young people around the world, calling on world leaders to honor their responsibilities in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and ending extreme poverty by 2030.
Global Citizens have generated commitments and policy announcements from leaders valued at over $37.9 billion that are set to affect the lives of more than 2.25 billion people. The organization has taken its action-based model to South Africa, Australia, India, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium and Canada, and has created a platform for activists to learn about the issues they care most about, take action and earn rewards for doing so.
Full lineup details for the 2019 festival are to be announced soon; learn more about the event at globalcitizen.org.
Queen and Lambert are currently playing dates on a North American tour, with east coast US shows set to take place this week in Washington, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Boston.
