Ozzy Osbourne expands New Year’s Eve Ozzfest
Ozzy Osbourne is sharing an update on plans for his New Year’s Ozzfest at The Forum in Los Angeles.
The event has expanded its headlining bill of Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Korn’s Jonathan Davis and Body Count featuring Ice-T to include a second, outdoor stage that will feature performances by guitarist Zakk Wylde’s Black Sabbath tribute, Zakk Sabbath, Devildriver and Wednesday 13.
With 10 hours of entertainment before fans ring in the New Year with Ozzy onstage, Ozzfest will kick off with live music at 2:30 PM on the outdoor stage before shifting indoors at 6:00 PM for the evening.
The December 31 event marks the first-ever, special one-night edition of Ozzy’s annual festival, which began in 1996.
Tickets and full event details are available now via ozzfest.com.
Osbourne recently thanked fans for their support as he continues to recover following a hand injury that required surgery and resulted in the recent postponement of four US shows on his farewell tour.
The rocker was hospitalized in Los Angeles to undergo treatment for multiple staph infections in his right hand and one that had spread to his middle finger; a staph infection occurs when otherwise normal germs on a person’s skin find a way into a person’s bloodstream, at which point they could turn deadly if not treated.
“I just want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your concern,” says Ozzy. “My thumb is fully recovered now. I am looking forward to seeing you all this New Year’s Eve at The Forum with Ozzfest. It's gonna be great. Be there."
