Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has announced dates for a spoken word tour of Australia this fall.
The “One Man Riot” show will see the rocker hitting Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Fortitude Valley in late September to share stories from his 30-plus year career with the thrash metal band.
“One Man Riot is what I call my talking show because the pretension of saying I am doing a ‘Spoken Word’ show is too much to bear,” says Ian. “This isn’t a poetry reading. This isn’t an evening of sensitive discourse. It’s an evening of ridiculous truth.”
The “One Man Riot” events will also include an audience Q&A session with the guitarist.
Tickets for the shows are available now; VIP upgrades are available at Scott-Ian.com.
The Anthrax rocker previously performed a spoken word series in the UK in 2013, which resulted in the 2014 DVD package, “Swearing Words In Glasgow.”
Last December, Ian published “Access All Areas: Stories From A Hard Rock Life”, a book that recounts some of the craziest stories from his years on and off the road.
The project followed Ian’s 2014 memoir, “I’m The Man: The Official Story Of Anthrax”, which told the story of Ian’s life growing up in Queens, NY, discovering rock, and forming the thrash metal pioneers in 1981.
Anthrax are currently on the road supporting Slayer on their final North American tour.
