Black Sabbath are streaming video of their 1970 classic, “N.I.B.”, as a preview to the November 17 release their farewell concert film “The End.”
The tune originally appeared on the band’s seminal self-titled debut album, which reached No. 8 on the charts in their native UK and No. 23 on the US Billboard 200.
Originally entitled “The End Of The End”, the 2017 package has been renamed simply as “The End.”
Directed by Dick Carruthers (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Oasis), the project presents the last concert under the Sabbath brand by three-quarters of the original lineup – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler – in their hometown of Birmingham, England this past February.
The project will be available on Blu-ray/CD, DVD/CD, 2CD and 3LP configurations.
All visual formats feature special bonus material of the band playing a selection of their favorite songs not performed on the farewell trek. These intimate live sessions at Angelic Studios were recorded in the days after their final live performance.
“The End” premiered in cinemas worldwide on September 28 and saw its world television debut on US cable and satellite television network Showtime on October 28.
On the heels of the Black Sabbath finale, Osbourne has recently announced the first series of dates for a planned three-year farewell world tour of his own.
The trek will kick off in 2018 with a show in Mexico on May 5, before heading to South America and Europe, with a North American run to follow.
