Lynyrd Skynyrd have cancelled their November 3 concert at the Capital City Amphitheater in Tallahassee, FL due to a medical emergency involving guitarist Gary Rossington.
The Tallahassee Democrat reports the exact cause of Rossington’s medical ailment was not released on Friday morning when the show at the city’s Cascades Park was shut down.
All tickets purchased online will be automatically refunded, while tickets purchased at The Moon’s box office at 1105 E. Lafayette Street can be refunded starting at noon on November 8.
The lone original member of the Southern rock icons, Rossington has battled health issues in recent years, including heart surgery this past August “to address some blockage in his arteries”, which followed a similar procedure in the summer of 2016 after the guitarist suffered a heart attack in late 2015.
Lynyrd Skynyrd are next scheduled to perform at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, FL on November 4 and the Rock Fest 80s event in Pembroke Pines, FL on November 5; the shows mark the final dates of the group’s 2017 touring schedule.
