Yes to release Topographic Drama live album
Yes will release “Topographic Drama – Live Across America”, on November 24.
The set features highlights from a series of 2017 shows that saw the band perform its 1980 album, “Drama”, in its entirety – for the first time ever – plus sides one and four from their 1973 double-album, “Tales From Topographic Oceans.”
Available as a 2CD, 4LP and digital download package, the project is rounded out with fan favorites “Roundabout” and “Starship Trooper.”
“Topographic Drama” features detailed cover art designed by the band’s longtime collaborator Roger Dean.
Yes recently cancelled the remaining dates of their Yestival tour of North America following the tragic, unexpected death of guitarist Steve Howe’s son, Virgil.
The band issued a statement on September 11, saying that they “want to thank all their fans for their support and understanding at this time,” while adding, “Steve Howe and family ask for their privacy to be respected during this difficult time.”
Yes will embark on a 50th anniversary tour early next year.
The 2018 trek will open in Bristol, UK on March 13 as part of a 10-show UK run before the band heads to Europe for more performances.
The tour will see the group – guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, keyboardist Geoff Downes, singer Jon Davison and bassist Billy Sherwood – feature not only many of the band’s classic hits, but performances of Sides 1 and 4 and an excerpt from Side 3 of their 1973 album, “Tales From Topographic Oceans”, which was the outfit’s first album to top the UK Album Charts.
