Metallica have unveiled a video for “Now That We’re Dead”, as part of this week’s launch of their tenth album, “Hardwired…To Self Destruct.”
The group are taking the rare step of releasing videos for all songs on the follow-up to 2008’s “Death Magnetic.”
Metallica worked with producer/engineer Greg Fidelman on both records, with sessions for the latest project recorded at the band’s headquarters in Southern California.
Directed by Herring & Herring, “Now That We’re Dead” is the fourth clip issued in the past 24 hours as the group gears up for the album’s release on November 18.
Almost 100 record stores across North America will host events at midnight on Thursday, November 17 to launch the project on what the band calls “Blackened Friday” in honor of the group’s own record label and that it’s a week before the annual US Black Friday retail event.
Metallica advise “stores will be stocked with music, prizes and cool giveaways”, while “during normal business hours, additional stores will be hosting Blackened Friday events with music and more giveaways as the celebration continues.”
