The Rolling Stones have released a video for their version of the Little Walter classic, “Hate To See You Go”, from their forthcoming blues covers album, “Blue & Lonesome.”
Due December 2, the project marks the band’s first studio album in over a decade as they cover tracks by a variety of blues legends alongside a pair of guest appearances by Eric Clapton.
The set was recorded over three days in December last year at British Grove Studios in West London.
Guitarist Ron Wood previously shared some insight into the sessions for the follow-up to 2005’s “A Bigger Bang.”
"We went in to cut some new songs, which we did," said Wood in April. "But we got on a blues streak. We cut 11 blues in two days. They are extremely great cover versions of Howlin' Wolf and Little Walter, among other blues people. But they really sound authentic.”
The Stones previewed “Blue & Lonesome” with a performance of the Eddie Taylor classic "Ride 'Em On Down", during their opening weekend set at the Desert Trip festival on October 7 and played the Buddy Johnson track, “Just Your Fool”, at the event’s second weekend on October 14.
