Billy Idol to release exclusive vinyl live album on Record Store Day
Billy Idol will release “BFI Live!” exclusively on vinyl as part of Record Store Day on Black Friday on November 25.
The limited-edition 3-LP set – which features 16 tracks recorded in concert during the rocker’s 2014-15 tour in support of his seventh album, “Kings & Queens Of The Underground” – will be individually numbered and available at participating indie Record Store Day retailers in North America; there will be no CD or digital version available for purchase.
The package delivers material from Idol’s 2014 album alongside a cover of The Doors’ classic “L.A. Woman” and hits from his own past like “Rebel Yell”, “White Wedding” and “Dancing With Myself.”
Idol will release a very limited number of the “BFI Live!” sets via the Official Billy Idol online shop at billyidol.net on December 9, when it will be available to hear via streaming services.
The rocker recently announced plans to extend his Las Vegas residency at the House Of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, “Billy Idol: Forever!”, into 2017 with new spring dates in March and May.
The residency sees Idol deliver tunes from throughout his career, including tracks from seminal British punk band Generation X to his solo hits.
