Axl Rose and AC/DC rocked The Palace Of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, MI outside of Detroit on September 9, and video from the show has surfaced online.

Brian McCollum of The Detroit Free Press called Rose’s work over the 24-song set with the Australian band “simply spectacular.”

“Stepping in for the sidelined Brian Johnson,” he wrote, “the Guns N’ Roses vocalist delivered a vigorous, note-perfect performance and a show of modesty that seemed to recognize his place in the scheme of it all.

“There’s a power and robustness in Rose’s voice long missing from Johnson’s live performances – and it helped fortify one of the strongest AC/DC shows metro Detroit has seen in some time”
featuring “tunes that hadn’t been heard at a Detroit AC/DC concert in years, even decades: ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Damnation,’ ‘If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It),’ ‘Live Wire’ and ‘Riff Raff,’ with the last two providing some of the night’s most inspired moments.”

The Detroit-area show marked the sixth of ten rescheduled US tour dates the band are playing this fall with Rose as they wind down a world tour in support of 2014’s “Rock Or Bust.”

The trek wraps up in Philadelphia, PA on September 20.

Axl Rose and AC/DC will next perform at the First Niagara Centre in Buffalo, NY on September 11.
