Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry will rejoin supergroup The Hollywood Vampires tour for a show tonight (July 22) at Weill Hall in Rohnert Park, CA after collapsing during a July 10 concert in Coney Island, NY.
Perry and the group updated fans on the news via their social media sites Thursday, as the summer run is set to wrap up with four final shows on the west coast starting Friday.
During the second song of The Hollywood Vampires show at the Ford Amphitheater in Coney Island, Perry stumbled offstage and, according to sources, soon lost consciousness and apparently went into cardiac arrest, with police on the scene reviving him.
The guitarist was taken to Coney Island hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Following the incident, the group cancelled a scheduled performance on CBS-TV’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert before resuming the tour two days later in Kettering, OH.
No official word on Perry’s condition has been released to date, with various media reporting in the past week that the guitarist was suffering from a combination of dehydration and exhaustion.
Perry, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp formed The Hollywood Vampires last year and released a self-titled debut album of classic rock covers.
