Steven Tyler performed on NBC-TV’s The Today Show on June 24 as he makes the rounds to promote the July 15 release of his debut solo album, “We’re All Somebody From Somewhere.”
Alongside Nashville-based Loving Mary, the rocker delivered Aerosmith’s 1993 hit, “Cryin’”, the title track to his solo record, and a cover of the 1967 Erma Franlin classic, “Piece Of My Heart”, a tune also made famous by Janis Joplin.
Prior to the three-song set, Tyler joined host Matt Lauer to discuss the new project, which he co-produced with T Bone Burnett, Dann Huff, Jaren Johnston and Marti Frederikson.
Tyler will present the new music to fans during his first solo tour, “Out On A Limb”, which starts in Las Vegas on July 2.
The intimate theatre shows will see the singer rework Aerosmith classics and tell stories behind some of the band's most beloved hits.
