Santana are streaming their reunion album, “Santana IV”, in full via NPR ahead of its release on April 15.
The project reunites Carlos Santana with Journey guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Gregg Rolie, percussionist Michael Carabello and drummer Michael Shrieve on record for the first time in 45 years.
Schon and Rolie were members of Santana before leaving in 1972 to form Journey alongside former Santana manager Herbie Herbert.
Next week, Santana and Journey will team up to launch the album with three shows in the Northeastern US.
The two bands will play New York’s Madison Square Garden on April 13, the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on April 15 and the PPL Center in Allentown, PA on April 16.
The pairing will also regroup for an August 28 show at The Forum in Los Angeles, and share a September 4 bill with the Steve Miller Band and The Doobie Brothers at AT&T Park in the bands hometown of San Francisco.
