David Lee Roth covers the Van Morrison classic, “Jackie Wilson Said (I'm In Heaven When You Smile)”, on the latest edition of The Roth Show.
The tune originally appeared as the opening track on Morrison’s sixth album, 1972’s “Saint Dominic's Preview.” The single peaked at No. 61 on the US Billboard Hot 100 while the album reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200.
Entitled “The Hendrix Mix”, the Van Halen frontman discusses the late guitar icon while playing snippets of tracks from ZZ Top, Boz Scaggs, Lords Of Acid, Dan Hartman, Deep Purple and Wang Chung.
Roth continues to crank out new episodes of his online series since his return online in February after a year’s absence.
Van Halen closed out their 2015 tour in support of “Tokyo Dome Live In Concert” with a pair of shows at the Hollywood Bowl in early October.
