Ahead of next month’s induction into the 2016 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the Steve Miller Band has announced dates for a summer tour of North America.
The three-month run begins June 17 in Northfield, OH, with shows ending September 4 in a co-bill date with Santana, Journey and Doobie Brothers at AT&T Park in San Francisco, CA.
Tickets for some shows are already on sale with pre-sale and on-sale dates staggered by market – check stevemillerband.com for details.
On April 8, Miller will be inducted into the Rock Hall alongside Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, Chicago and N.W.A. at the Barclays Center in New York, with the event filmed for broadcast by HBO in the spring.
“We know that our fans made our nomination into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame happen!,” says the guitarist. “Thank you for your support! Yup... The time has come when your cries to ‘Put the Steve Miller Band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!’ have been heard!”
Miller released his debut album, “Children Of The Future”, in 1968 and rode a wave of mega-hits in the 1970s that started with 1973’s “The Joker.”
His “Greatest Hits 1974–78” collection is one of the top 40 best-selling albums in the US with more than 13 million copies sold.
The guitarist’s most recent studio release is 2011’s “Let Your Hair Down.”
