Sammy Hagar was joined by Alice Cooper on the February 7 episode of his new AXS TV series Rock & Roll Road Trip.
The pair hooked up to discuss Alice’s legendary history and his thoughts on what it takes to make it in the music business.
“I played in bars much longer than anyone thinks…for six, seven years,” Alice explains. “All good bands started in little, dumpy bars playing four sets a night, and that’s how you get good.”
Cooper’s appearance follows the series premiere with Chickenfoot bandmate Michael Anthony and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, and a special Grateful Dead episode with Hagar pals Bob Weir and Mickey Hart.
Airing Sunday nights on AXS TV, “Rock & Roll Road Trip” sees Hagar drive across the country to jam with some of rock's biggest names, including Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson, and Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell.
As part of the recent 2015 hennemusic Rock News Awards, Hagar was named the No. 3 Rock News Artist Of The Year while also being a part of the No. 4 and No. 10 Rock News Stories Of The Year.
