Motorhead: Ace Of Spades returns to UK charts following Lemmy’s death

Motorhead’s 1980 classic, “Ace Of Spades”, has returned to the UK singles charts following the December 28 death of leader Lemmy Kilmister.

According to the Official Charts Company, “Ace Of Spades” has climbed 94 places to Number 9 at the midweek point on the Official Singles Chart update.

The track peaked at Number 15 upon its release in 1980, and last entered the Top 40 22 years ago, hitting Number 23 when it was re-issued in September 1993.

The confirmed weekly UK chart positions will be revealed on Friday.

Kilmister died from an “extremely aggressive cancer” at his Los Angeles home just two days after being diagnosed with the issue.

Lemmy’s favorite hangout, The Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood, will host a public memorial service for the late rocker this Saturday, January 9.
