AUDIO: Chris Cornell premieres new single from 13 Hours soundtrack

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is premiering "'Til The Sun Comes Back Around", a single featured in the new Michael Bay-directed film “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi.”

Based on the 2014 book “13 Hours” by Mitchell Zuckoff, the project – in theaters now – tells the story of the six members of a security team who fought to defend the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi following a terrorist attack on September 11, 2012.

The film stars James Badge Dale, John Krasinski, Max Martini, Toby Stephens, Pablo Schreiber, David Denman, Dominic Fumusa and Freddie Stroma.

Cornell has a long history of film and soundtrack work. The singer earned a 2008 Grammy nomination for “You Know My Name” – the theme song for the 2006 James Bond flick “Casino Royale” – and a 2012 Golden Globes nomination for “The Keeper” from the “Machine Gun Preacher” soundtrack.

The Soundgarden frontman’s last entry was “Misery Chain” from 2014’s “12 Years A Slave.”

Cornell spent 2015 on the road playing select dates with the Seattle band while touring extensively in support of his latest solo effort “Higher Truth.”
